Dr. McCaghy received her Psy.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. She completed her internship with the Nebraska Consortium in Professional Psychology at Beatrice State Developmental Center in Beatrice, NE and gained clinical Practica experience working at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, VA and with the Juvenile Justice system in Virginia Beach, VA.
Additionally, Dr. McCaghy is certified in the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program (PREP) and taught Marriage and Family for a semester as an adjunct professor for Regent University’s satellite site in Washington, D.C.
Prior to joining Capstone Behavioral Health in 2015, Dr. McCaghy worked at the Glenwood Resource Center in Glenwood, IA for seven years as a psychologist on a multidisciplinary team writing and monitoring behavior support plans for individuals dually diagnosed with developmental disabilities and mental illness. She also led a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Informed Skills Group.
Dr. McCaghy ethically integrates faith and psychology, respecting each individual’s personal values and culture. Dr. McCaghy conducts individual, family, marital, and group therapy from a biopsychosocial spiritual framework using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, Behavioral Therapy techniques, and concepts from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, and resiliency training. Her primary professional interests include marriage enrichment and therapy; treatment for trauma, depression, anxiety, and addictions. She also conducts psychological evaluations for adolescents and adults.
Prior to obtaining her degrees in psychology, Dr. McCaghy obtained a degree in practical theology from Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, TX and her B.A.A.S. from Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, TX. She also worked as a missionary English teacher in Japan for four years.
PEGGY MCCAGHY, PSYD
JENNIFER LINDNER, PHD
Dr. Lindner received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from University of Nebraska- Lincoln. She completed her internship at Morrison Child and Family Services in Portland, OR and her Post Doctoral Fellowship at Munroe Meyer Institute at UNMC in Omaha, NE. She has been working as a licensed psychologist at Capstone for the past 6 years. Her specialty is working with children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Disruptive Behavior Disorders. Dr. Lindner also sees young adults and parents for therapy. She also completes comprehensive psychological evaluations.
HOLLY FILCHECK, PHD
Director of Psychology
Dr. Filcheck received her Ph.D. and M.A. in child clinical psychology from West Virginia University. She completed her internship at the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Additionally, she received a Certificate of Interdisciplinary Leadership Training in Developmental Disabilities. Currently, Dr. Filcheck is the director of psychology at Capstone Behavioral Health, P.C. Her primary interests are in the assessment and treatment of disruptive behavior disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and depression and anxiety. Dr. Filcheck also is interested in working with adults with parenting concerns, depression, anxiety, and relationship concerns. She conducts psychological evaluations for children, adults, and parents, as well as social security disability determination evaluations. She also provides treatment with Parent-Child Interaction Therapy as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
KEVIN BERRYMAN, PHD
Dr. Berryman completed his PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He completed his doctoral internship with the Nebraska Internship Consortium at Boys Town serving as a therapist for adolescents in residential care. Prior to completing doctoral training, Dr. Berryman earned a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado- Colorado Springs. He has been practicing as a licensed therapist in Nebraska since 2004 and has worked in a variety of settings, including residential, outpatient, and in-home environments. Dr. Berryman previously served as a faculty member at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln teaching graduate courses in clinical supervision and psychological assessment.
Dr. Berryman utilizes an integrative therapeutic approach that includes cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and existential modalities, while incorporating principles of positive psychology. He enjoys helping clients identify and utilize their strengths in the therapeutic process, taking an individualized approach depending on a client’s interests and personal values. He assists clients with developing insight into the nature of their difficulties, while creating a plan to move forward and experience enhanced life satisfaction. Dr. Berryman primarily focuses on working with adult and adolescent clients using individual and family therapy interventions. He also conducts comprehensive psychological evaluations for adolescents and adults.
ELIZABETH MORELL, PHD
Dr. Morell received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Clinical and School Psychology from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Creighton University. She completed her internship at Hofstra University Student Counseling Services and her Post Doctoral Fellowship at Roger Williams University Center for Counseling and Student Development in Bristol, Rhode Island. She has also worked as a Crisis Counselor for Hofstra University for 2 years. Her specialty is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She enjoys working with young adults along with individuals of all ages with anxiety, depression, and personality issues. She also completes comprehensive psychological evaluations.
JOSH NEEDELMAN, PHD
Dr. Needelman received his Ph.D. and M.A. in School Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. He received his B.A. with a major in psychology from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. He completed his internship and Post Doctoral Fellowship at Munroe Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. He has received extensive training in Disruptive Behavior Disorders, but has experience working with clients with a wide-variety of behavioral health concerns
