Failte! (Irish – “Welcome”!) Thank you for being here. One of the most difficult choices in many people’s lives is being able to reach out to others when we help is needed. It takes courage, more than most realize even ourselves. If you are here then you are already doing so and not only am I proud of you but you should be as well in yourself. Life can have times of very difficult moments and experiences presenting challenges we have not yet faced and never even considered and facing them ourselves can be overwhelming in more ways than one.
To find this support to help ourselves with a therapist requires the therapist having empathy and trust with you. I’m here to create and provide both in my approach creating a safe environment with clients to build trust developing a relationship based in empathetic listening and positive regard. Forming this safe space with you to be able to process your thoughts and emotions is my first priority to help my clients in facing these challenges in their lives. I provide skill based interventions and explore coping skills and tools to manage symptoms and create your own best solutions for your daily life. I work with patients who experience anxiety, depression, and trauma related symptoms with my therapeutic approaches grounded in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) combining also elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solution focused therapy, person centered therapy, and existential therapy.
I’m passionate in supporting individuals during significant life changes and have gained experience working with adults, young adults, college students, and adults in transition as well as older adults to assist in navigating the unique challenges as well as opportunities that come with aging. I am also passionate in serving with the LGBTQIA+ Community and welcome working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities ensuring my practice is inclusive and affirming for all individuals.
In my personal life I love spending time running and being outdoors being with my three dogs and spending time with my family.
